Ahhh, Hoodoo Ski Area—where snow, smiles, and just the right amount of whoosh all come together in one frosty playground! Nestled in the Cascade Range near Sisters, Oregon, this gem of a ski spot has been dishing out good times and fresh powder since 1938. That’s right—it’s got vintage vibes with a modern twist, like your favorite retro ski jacket but with way better insulation.
❄️ Why should you make a beeline (or snowline?) to Hoodoo?
1. The slopes are calling—and they’re super fun!
With over 800 acres of skiable terrain and 34 runs, Hoodoo’s got a little something for everyone—from first-timers wobbling down the bunny hill to seasoned powder hounds chasing black diamonds. Plus, with its wide-open terrain and minimal lift lines, you won’t be stuck doing the “ski shuffle” waiting around.
2. Night skiing magic ✨
Who says the fun stops at sunset? Hoodoo has some of the best night skiing in the Northwest. Picture yourself carving under the stars with lights twinkling around you—kind of like a snow globe that lets you shred.
3. Autobahn Tubing Park = pure joy 🚗🛷
No skis? No problem! Hop in an inner tube and zoom down the Autobahn Tubing Park. It’s like a snow rollercoaster but without the loop-de-loops. Bonus: it’s wildly fun for kids and adults who are just big kids at heart.
4. It’s cozy, not crowded
Unlike some mega resorts, Hoodoo is refreshingly chill (pun intended). You can actually find a seat in the lodge, get your food without a 45-minute wait, and maybe even hear birds chirping on the chairlift.
5. Local charm, friendly vibes
Hoodoo has that homey, “everyone knows your name” energy. The staff is warm, the coffee’s hot, and the après-ski nachos are chef’s kiss. You’ll feel like part of the mountain family in no time.
6. Easy-breezy access from Sisters, Bend, or Eugene
Just a quick hop from central Oregon towns, Hoodoo is your perfect winter day-trip or weekend getaway. You’ll be back in time for dinner—or better yet, have it slope-side.
So grab your gear, zip up your snow pants, and get ready for a day full of snow, speed, and maybe a few comical tumbles. Hoodoo isn’t just a ski area—it’s a whole vibe. 🎿⛷️❄️

1 Reviews on “HooDoo Ski Area”
I LOVE Hoodoo Ski area because the prices are good and the lift lines are a lot smaller than most of the other ski places I’ve visited. The ski lodge is huge and the rental shop has skis, snowboards and snow bikes. This is a good family friendly place with a good mix of trails from easy to hard.
My favorite is Thrifty Thursdays, lift tickets are only $35!! So affordable – if my kids were doing well in school, we’d skip a school day and I treat them to skiing at Hoodoo!
